Acceptance

What's acceptable to you? Will you accept the way things are, to participate with what IS; or are you convinced (heart-set) on changing the world to make it a 'better' place (in large or small ways)? If you do as Jesus taught, Mt 6.33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things (what you will wear, eat and drink) will be given to you as well." Jesus is teaching acceptance of Reality (rule by God). We must learn to let go of our convictions that we can do it better than Reality. Reality has things well under control. There is no need for you to 'fix' anything!

Bring to mind plans you've set for yourself...who's running the show? Are you determined that without your efforts your life, the lives of your family members, your community, city and nation...even the world would be worse off?!! OR, are you funtioning from a state of unconditional love? That is, everything that IS (is happening) is completely accepted, without any need for it to change?!

Mt 25.37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

Only when you participate, not as the leader, but as a servant, will you become loving; oblivious to any need to create change. As a servant you don't direct; and you'll lose all those 'dis-eases' that befall those who attempt to control that which God only can control.

You can't make things better. Each moment is an example of how things are already perfect. Participate. Jesus didn't teach that we would create God's kingdom, but that we could enter, and as participants enter into it.

Can you be certain?

. When something happens in your life, how often have you lost your sense of peace? I see this happen to people often; usually peace is relinquished by negative emotions or thoughts. Who in their 'right mind' would relinquish peace for irritation/anger (suffering)? It's obvious that what happens to us isn't unique. No matter what you experience you can always imagine others (or actually know someone) who experience similar things and some could be said to be 'better' or 'worse' off than you are. No one is alone and this is a clue to 'escape' from the judging mind. To judge/label an event as 'GOOD' or 'BAD' can't be completely certain; since either choice presupposes a 'correct' way to decide. There is no way to know which one is correct, and the choice is usually biased by desire, that is, "what do I WANT". When you choose sides you've trapped yourself in a fantasy prison (in your mind). There is no ...

What makes a religious tradition valuable?

. Any particular religious tradition doesn't 'contain' the TRUTH more than another. It's in a tradition's ability to transform a person that makes that tradition valuable. The value or truth in a tradition is subjective, so let go of conviction that causes animosity towards traditions that are different from 'yours'. Matthew
