Finding Truth

This will seem odd to most people, because what people 'think' (their faith in the conceptualization of Reality) seems to them undoubtable...but Truth is only known when 'naming' is released.

'Naming', the spoken or thought word (concepts) limits our ability to see, thus distorts our perceptions of what IS. From the Tao te Ching, "The eternal Tao (Reality) cannot be spoken."

We wouldn't have a problem if we saw our limited world-view AS limited; since it wouldn't overstep what it 'saw'; but we don't believe we have limited concepts! Certainly we don't claim to know 'everything', but the underlying faith in the 'knowability' (rational, 'named') nature of the universe continues; and THAT is where we detour into 'The Fall', or 'miss the mark' (sin) begins. We believe we can KNOW through naming.

It's by way of freedom from thought entrapment, that Truth is known. Strangely, when we discover Truth, as if miraculously, everything becomes KNOWN (so do we)! It's as if a light were turned on that illuminates EVERYTHING. Astonishing, but sadly overlooked by most people; since this knowing heals, and healing is sorely needed today.

Knowing Truth also leads to freedom. Jesus said, "The Truth will set you free." This 'freedom' is freedom from anxiety, anger, frustration...dis-ease(s) of the limited, artificial self. This freeing is what produced one type of miracle Jesus performed. You can recognize them by his parting comments, "Your faith has made you well."

Who in their 'right mind' would relinquish peace for irritation/anger (suffering)? It's obvious that what happens to us isn't unique. No matter what you experience you can always imagine others (or actually know someone) who experience similar things and some could be said to be 'better' or 'worse' off than you are. No one is alone and this is a clue to 'escape' from the judging mind. To judge/label an event as 'GOOD' or 'BAD' can't be completely certain; since either choice presupposes a 'correct' way to decide. There is no way to know which one is correct, and the choice is usually biased by desire, that is, "what do I WANT". When you choose sides you've trapped yourself in a fantasy prison (in your mind). There is no ...

What makes a religious tradition valuable?

. Any particular religious tradition doesn't 'contain' the TRUTH more than another. It's in a tradition's ability to transform a person that makes that tradition valuable. The value or truth in a tradition is subjective, so let go of conviction that causes animosity towards traditions that are different from 'yours'. Matthew
